For combination-nc and her Karl/Duncan Karl-is-a-Grey-Warden-candidate fic, which is perfect and you should all read it. I knew I had to draw something from it at some point, particularly with the chess. Because chess! Duncan’s conceding a little earlier here than in the fic, but oh well.
Also beard week.
Oh my goodness this is perfect and beautiful and I have a lot of feelings, what do I do with all these feelings, I — okay first I say oh my goodness thank you a lot and a lot, and then I flail and perhaps spin around a little bit and go eeek and then back to oh my goodness! Because, oh my goodness, how perfect is this, on all kinds of levels?
But really, it was quite some self restraint Duncan showed in the fic, I mean, when he found out how mages play their chess he must have been very, very tempted to just push all the pieces from the table and go take me now! Or be more classy about it, like in this picture. But, hey, you know, that series is not finished yet, they will surely have more opportunities to play chess in the future…
